The ICI Climate Forum is an in-person gathering for investors, experts, innovators and others who believe the insurance industry can and must run toward risks associated with climate change. Participants can exchange advice, information, and ideas and learn about specific opportunities to support innovation at the nexus of insurance and climate risk.

Alexa Kleysteuber
Alexa has over 15 years of experience in climate change policy. She worked for the Chilean Ministry of Environment as a negotiator to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and on furthering climate action on-the-ground. She participated in the negotiations that concluded with the Paris Agreement in 2015, focusing on mitigation, transparency and carbon markets. After Paris, she spent 3 years in California, appointed by former Governor Jerry Brown as the Deputy Secretary for Border and Intergovernmental Relations at the California EPA, where she helped form the US Climate Alliance and organize the Global Climate Action Summit. In the last few years, Alexa has been an independent consultant working for EDF, WRI, Netflix and now Vibrant Planet on various climate matters, mainly related to carbon markets.

Andrew Engler
Andrew is an experienced executive with over a decade working in the insurtech and reinsurance space. Most recently he helped found and led Argo Group’s Digital Division as VP of Digital. Before that, he was Commercial Field Sales Leader for Allstate and has had experience from ground level retail agencies, all the way up through complex mortgage derivative reinsurance pricing/structures. Andrew co-founded Kettle with the goal to protect the world against climate change using deep learning and reinsurance. Spending his time between Bermuda and New York, Andrew is passionate about utilizing groundbreaking machine learning to solve some of the most complex issues facing the Re/insurance world today.
